"People loved her, fish feared her"

Joyce Winn, amazing seamstress that hand crafted many quilts and baby blankets for family and friends, crafty doll maker, pet whisperer, and avid fish slayer, formerly of Brigham City Ut., current resident of Weston Id., passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on a beautiful morning, Wednesday, July 30th, 2014, from injuries sustained in an auto accident the afternoon before. Born Nov. 26th, 1944, in Fairview Id. to Alma and Odra Winn, raised respectively tough within the loving arms of her 3 brothers, Eugene, Harold, and Keith in the cities of Ogden and Brigham . Graduate of Box Elder High (1963). Worked for Brigham Apparel and Lazy Boy as a dedicated seamstress before retiring and moving to Weston Id. with her brother Harold and sister in-law Sandy. Joyce fought many a fish through the years, but never did she fight a battle as diligently and courageously as she did as when she was diagnosed with breast and bone cancer a whopping 8 years ago. Dubbed the "Energizer Bunny" from some at her cancer treatment center, she fought relentlessly for that "one last cast". She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Joyce is survived by her brothers Harold (Sandy), Weston ID., Keith (Nancy), Brigham City, UT, sister in-law Galene, Brigham City, UT as well as many nephews/nieces, great nephews/nieces, and great, great nephews/nieces whom she loved dearly and who loved her dearly, and her beloved cat Tibbles. Preceded in death by her parents and brother Eugene. The family would also like to thank the many doctors, therapists, and cancer treatment patients that Joyce became friends with through her journey, and most of all, her special caretakers, her sister in-law Sandy, and nephew Shawn, whom strived tirelessly everyday to make sure Joyce was where she wanted, and needed to be. Until we meet again Joyce.......FISH ON ! Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Brigham City Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. at Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City, UT
