1945 ~ 2014Stephen L Machen born on August 31, 1945 in Los Angeles, California passed away on Dec. 20 2014 after suffering a traumatic brain injury. Stephen was the son of Lowell and Rhea Machen. He was raised in Rexburg, Idaho and Brigham City, Utah. As a teenager he accompanied his parents on their LDS mission to England and from there was called to serve a building mission in Scotland. Stephen served honorably in the United States Coast Guard and later graduated from Weber State University. He worked for Thiokol in the aerospace industry, retiring in 2009 after 24 years. In 1989 Stephen met his true love and eternal companion Linda Rae Casaday. They were married July 15, 1989 and sealed Sept. 15, 1990 in the Logan Temple. They completely adored each other and shared many adventures and were happily married for 25 years. Stephen held many callings in the church but his real love was serving at the Bountiful temple. Everyone loved his big heart and his corny sense of humor, especially his grandchildren. "We want pie!"
